Louisa Bowman 63 years old – “I joined TransformHERS Sandton in late August 2015, with little to no expectations other than to exercise with my daughter. There is a 30 plus year age gap between us but she easily convinced me to give it a go. My first session included an agility course with hula hoops, trampolines and a lot of running; I’ve never had so much fun! 

I have tried various different exercise routines from gym to pilates to yoga, but could never find something I could stick with, something I looked forward to at the end of a work day. I now attend bootcamp 4 times a week. I have been branded the ‘teacher’s pet’ because I can’t bring myself to miss a session. In November last year I broke my wrist and not even that could keep me away.  With TransformHERS there’s such a variety of exercises you never quite know what you’re in for. But its more than exercise, it’s about the friendships you make along the way. We have a mixed bunch of lovely crazy girls and a trainer who has a subtle way of motivating you through kindness that you forget she’s just made you do 90 pushups in a row.  In total I have lost 10kgs and I won ‘Most Transformed Body’ in the 2015 iTransform Challenge.

My test day 1km run has improved from 7:28min when I started to 6:10min.
I have participated in numerous 5km and 10km runs and have signed up for my first 21km this July. I never thought I’d enjoy running as much as I do.
My personal triumph - I have an almost flat tummy!!

Bring on winter and the rest of 2016 with the TransformHERS family, I’m looking forward to it.”
